Support that meets you where you are

Individual therapy

A private, steady space to explore patterns, experiences and the changes you want to make.

Individual therapy offers a confidential space to explore what is happening in your life — the patterns you keep returning to, the experiences that feel unresolved, and the changes you are hoping to make.

Sessions are collaborative and paced to suit you. There is no fixed agenda or pressure to move faster than feels right. We work together to understand what is present and what might support you.

Interpersonal Therapy

A focused approach to the relationships, life changes and communication patterns that affect wellbeing.

Interpersonal therapy explores how relationships, role changes, grief and communication can shape mood and emotional wellbeing. It creates space to understand what is happening between you and the people around you.

Together, we identify practical ways to navigate difficult conversations, strengthen support, and move through changes in relationships or life circumstances.

Neuro-affirming support

Embodied Psychology provides neuro-affirming psychological support for autistic and ADHD individuals, recognising and respecting the diverse ways people think, experience, and navigate the world.

We recognise that distress may arise not from neurodivergence itself, but from environmental mismatch, unmet needs, barriers to understanding and acceptance, and the cumulative impact of navigating a world that may not accommodate individual differences.

Therapy is tailored to each person’s communication style, sensory needs, cognitive preferences, strengths, and goals. Support may explore experiences of burnout, trauma, emotional regulation, identity and self understanding, as well as navigating relationships, daily demands, and systems that may not always meet individual needs.

Schema therapy

Schema Therapy explores how early life experiences and important relationships can shape the beliefs we develop about ourselves, others, and the world around us. These experiences can contribute to longstanding emotional patterns and coping strategies that once helped us navigate difficult situations but may no longer serve us well in adulthood.

Therapy provides an opportunity to understand these patterns with curiosity and compassion, recognising how they may influence emotions, relationships, and responses to challenging situations. Through this process, you can begin to identify what triggers familiar patterns, understand the needs beneath them, and develop more flexible ways of responding.

The aim is not simply to understand why certain patterns exist, but to create meaningful change, fostering a stronger sense of self, more fulfilling relationships, and greater freedom to respond to life in ways that align with your needs and values.

Trauma informed support

Care that honours your nervous system, your experiences, and your capacity for choice.

Trauma can arise from single distressing events or from repeated or ongoing experiences, particularly those involving relationships, safety, or early development. These experiences can shape how we understand ourselves and others, respond to stress, and experience a sense of safety in the world. Their effects may be felt emotionally, physically, and relationally, contributing to anxiety, low mood, difficulties with emotional regulation and self worth, relationship challenges, or a persistent sense of tension, alertness, or unease.

At Embodied Psychology, trauma focused therapy is guided by collaboration, compassion, and respect for your individual needs and readiness. Therapy begins with establishing a sense of safety and developing strategies to support emotional regulation and stability. Where appropriate, this may progress to gently processing distressing memories and experiences at a pace that feels manageable, with your consent and choice remaining central throughout.

The aim is to help you understand the ways past experiences may continue to affect you, reduce trauma related distress, and develop a greater sense of safety, connection, and choice in how you respond to yourself, others, and the world around you.

Eye movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)

An evidence based approach to processing distressing experiences and reducing their ongoing impact.

EMDR is an evidence based psychological therapy used to treat trauma and post traumatic stress. It helps people process distressing memories and experiences that may continue to affect how they feel, respond to stress, and experience a sense of safety in the present. Through this process, memories may become less emotionally distressing, reducing their impact on everyday life.

At Embodied Psychology, EMDR is offered within a broader, trauma informed approach to care, with careful consideration of each person’s needs, circumstances, and readiness for this type of therapy. Treatment is collaborative and paced thoughtfully, with an emphasis on emotional safety, stabilisation, and ongoing consent.

EMDR may be helpful for people experiencing the effects of single incident trauma, complex or developmental trauma, distressing memories, trauma related nightmares, or ongoing anxiety and emotional reactivity associated with past experiences.

Telehealth Consultations

Thoughtful, evidence based psychological care, wherever you feel most comfortable.

Embodied Psychology offers psychological support via secure video consultations, making therapy more accessible and flexible for individuals across Australia. Telehealth allows you to engage in meaningful therapeutic work from the comfort and privacy of your own space, without the need to travel.

Our approach remains warm, collaborative, and tailored to your individual needs, experiences, and goals. Sessions draw on evidence based psychological therapies, with care taken to create a supportive environment where you can explore challenges, develop practical strategies, and work towards meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you.

Whether you are balancing work and family commitments, living in a regional or remote area, or simply feel more comfortable accessing support from home, telehealth offers an alternative way to engage in psychological care while maintaining a strong therapeutic connection.

Supervision

Reflective, collaborative supervision that supports professional growth, clinical confidence, and ethical practice.

Dr Lizzie Osborn is a Board approved supervisor offering tailored supervision to provisional psychologists and registered psychologists. Supervision provides a supportive space to reflect on clinical experiences, strengthen therapeutic skills, navigate complex presentations, and develop confidence in clinical decision-making.

Drawing on experience in trauma, neurodivergence, and complex presentations, Lizzie takes a collaborative and reflective approach that recognises each practitioner’s individual learning needs, professional goals, and stage of development. Supervision is tailored to support ongoing professional growth, ethical and evidence based practice, and relevant AHPRA supervision and professional development requirements.

An embodied approach to psychological healing

Traditional talk therapy meets somatic awareness. We make space to notice physical cues, such as muscle tension or changes in breathing, helping to untangle responses that words alone cannot fully capture.

What to expect in a session

Your sessions are collaborative, individualised and guided by your needs, preferences and comfort. Together, we explore what is happening in your life, develop a deeper understanding of your experiences, and gently identify patterns in your thoughts, emotions, relationships and responses to stress. Where helpful, we may also explore how these experiences are reflected in your body, building awareness of physical sensations and responses that can offer further insight into what you are experiencing.

Throughout therapy, we focus on developing practical strategies that support emotional regulation, strengthen your sense of grounding and help you navigate life's challenges in ways that feel meaningful and manageable. We recognise that everyone's experiences are different, and there is no single approach that works for everyone. Your voice, choice and autonomy remain central to the process, and we work at a pace that feels safe and appropriate for you. Body focused exercises are never compulsory, and you are always welcome to pause, adjust or choose a different approach at any time.
