About Embodied Psychology

Embodied Psychology offers a warm, welcoming space in Gawler South, supporting individuals across the Barossa, Light and northern Adelaide regions. We strive to create an environment where you feel understood, respected and supported to explore your experiences and work towards meaningful change.

Our approach is compassionate, trauma informed and neuro-affirming, recognising the interconnectedness of mind, body and lived experience. We provide individualised, evidence based psychological care that honours your unique needs, strengths and goals. Through a collaborative therapeutic relationship, we support you to deepen self understanding, explore what matters most to you, and develop practical strategies that foster greater wellbeing and lasting change.

Our Philosophy

Connecting mind, body and emotion

When we created Embodied Psychology, we wanted to build a space that recognises the whole person and honours the complex relationship between our minds, bodies, and lived experiences. We believe that our thoughts, emotions, memories, relationships, and physical experiences are deeply interconnected, and that meaningful psychological care considers all of these dimensions.

Psychological distress is not simply something that exists in our thoughts. It can be felt in our bodies, reflected in the stories we carry, shaped by our relationships, and influenced by how safe and connected we feel within ourselves. We believe therapy offers an opportunity to explore these experiences with curiosity and compassion, deepen our understanding of ourselves, and develop new ways of relating to ourselves and the world around us.

We draw on evidence based approaches, including Schema Therapy, EMDR, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), thoughtfully tailoring our work to your individual needs, strengths, and goals. We believe therapy should be collaborative and never rushed. We work at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you, with your voice, choice, and consent at the centre of the process.

Support across life's transitions

We work with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing a range of psychological challenges, including anxiety, low mood, trauma, OCD, emotional overwhelm, and periods of change or uncertainty. Whether you are seeking relief from ongoing difficulties or a better understanding of yourself, therapy offers an opportunity to explore what is happening and find approaches that work for you.

Our practice is proudly neuro-affirming, recognising and respecting the diverse ways people think, communicate, process information, and experience the world. Rather than expecting individuals to adapt to rigid expectations, we tailor our approach to their unique needs and experiences, creating space for authenticity, self understanding, and growth.

Our values and commitment to you

Established to provide thoughtful, compassionate psychological care to individuals and families across Gawler South, the surrounding communities, and northern Adelaide, our practice is grounded in curiosity, collaboration, and respect for each person’s autonomy and individuality.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Whether you have a clear sense of what brings you to therapy or are still finding the words to describe your experiences, there is space to begin wherever you are.

From your first appointment, we aim to foster an environment where you feel comfortable asking questions, exploring what matters to you, and actively shaping your therapeutic journey in partnership with your psychologist.

“Healing doesn’t mean having it all figured out. It can begin with feeling safe enough to pause, be heard, and take the next step at your own pace.”
